Two distinct market segments — do not compare across them
The All-in-One / Bare-Metal Index (CCPI, SMM, Mysteel) reflects 8-GPU all-in-one servers with monthly minimum lease terms for enterprise customers, bundling electricity, rack space, and bandwidth; GHPI reflects retail list prices for instant GPU activation and hourly billing —a natural price gap exists (retail is typically higher but carries zero commitment), so using either as a benchmark to discredit the other is a mismatch in methodology.
GHPI methodology and data collection
Fixed-basket median + matched-model chaining: compares only price changes of identical GPU models on the same platform; new platforms or capacity expansions won’t create artificial spikes or dips; promotional or reference prices are excluded. Daily snapshots freeze at 20:00 (Hong Kong) and are never backfilled; historical values are tamper-proof, verifiable via hash chain (/data/hashchain.json).
Data freely available (CC BY 4.0): JSON at /data/ghpi.json, CSV at /data/ghpi.csv, and daily permanent snapshots on the date pages under /ghpi-daily/; high-frequency or bulk machine-readable access is available via the x402 pay-per-call API .
Honesty boundary
GHPI is a reference index based on retail listed prices; the series begins on 2026-09-28 and has limited historical depth. Until longer-term time-series validation and anti-manipulation analysis are completed, GHPI is not used for valuation or settlement in financial contracts—it serves solely as one of several trend-reference metrics for GPU rental cost.
